Retrofit Program

Hatchet Lake Band has signed an agreement with SaskPower to deliver the Northern First Nation Retrofit Program for electrically heated homes in the community:

• Under the Program, SaskPower, through its contractor, will provide:

• A home energy assessment from a Northern Home Technician, which includes energy savings tips for the residents, and the installation of basic energy efficiency measures. These could include:
  • LED light bulbs
  • Faucet aerators
  • High efficiency showerheads
  • Advanced power strip
  • Clothes drying rack
  • Water heater tank insulation
  • Hot water pipe wrap insulation

• In addition to these energy efficiency measures, participants could be eligible for retrofit work on their homes from SaskPower’s contractor, which includes:
  • Programmable thermostat
  • Attic insulation
  • Air Sealing
  • Exterior Crawlspace Insulation
  • Window Replacement
  • Door Replacement
  • HRV cleaning
  • Air duct cleaning
  • Bathroom fan replacement
  • Smoke and CO detector

• The improvements will be carried out by SaskPower’s contractor
